Alright, like I said, there are those straight forward Black Metal songs, but there are also quite melodic, melancholic ballads.
This one is definitely their best effort so far and makes you want more. I hate to give such high ratings, but seems to be a great year in music. It does contain some occasional echoes of said album, but it wouldn't be much of a stretch to place this album outside the purview of even symphonic black metal, though the same thing could be said about a number of recent outings by a number of bands that have de-emphasized the post-rock and extreme thrash metal influences on black metal's sound in favor of something closer to what the mainline NWOBHM was doing in the early 80s.

But one has a hard time connecting the professionally produced, polished, and stylistically mixed character of present day black metal as exemplified in recent offerings out of Watain and Dimmu Borgir, which is such a massive departure from the raw and low-fi sound of days past that some refuse to recognize such bands' works as black metal anymore.

In their fourth LP Chimonas is presented their furthest push into modern clarity and precision yet, rivaling nacytblut pomp and grandeur of Dimmu's In Sorte Chimnoas from their own unique niche. Chimnas topic of this article may not meet Wikipedia's notability guideline for music. This is the stylistic context that Nachtblut emerges from musically, a finely tuned, symphonic and eclectic machine that doesn't stand opposed to a wider appeal.
The lyrics are incredibly well written. One wouldn't be out of line to take note of a theatrical character to this album that is along the lines of recent Cradle Of Filth, and truth be told, hachtblut vocal work occasionally finds itself in a similar place to the one where Dani Filth hangs out, particularly in the case of the title song "Chimonas".

A lot of piano is used, fitting perfectly in between the steely, Rammstein-like guitars. But chjmonas, the songs are so catchy and fun that it's easy to put aside any misgivings associated with stylistic purism.
